Nerf’s collaboration with Overwatch must be going pretty well. The duo have announced a second gun is in production for a 2019 release. With this one being the Nerf Rival Overwatch D.VA Blaster.
The line of play weapons was first announced back in May when the official Overwatch account tweeted that the toys were in development. Since then, the duo have been diligently working behind the scenes to ensure the Nerf guns are both fun and accurate.
A new way to play.

During San Diego Comic-Con, Blizzard and Nerf used the event to showcase the first weapon in their collaboratory line. The Nerf Rival Overwatch Reaper Wight Edition Blaster. The gun, which you can probably predict from its name, is a Nerf replicant of Reaper’s Hellfire shotgun.
The Nerf Rival Overwatch Reaper Wight Edition blaster comes complete with a spring-action mechanism, a ready indicator, and a safety lock. The Reaper Wight Edition Blaster also comes with custom rounds featuring the Overwatch logo in custom colors. The Nerf Rival Overwatch D.VA Blaster will feature custom rounds of its very own when it releases next year too.
Following the Reaper Blaster debuting at Comic-Con, the Nerf Rival Overwatch D.VA Blaster was first shown off at ChinaJoy, China’s Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference in Shanghai. Blizzard and Nerf state that the Nerf Rival Overwatch D.VA Blaster will hold 3 Nerf Rival rounds which it can then shoot at a velocity of 80 rounds per second. And just like the Reaper Blaster, it features the same quality built spring-action mechanism, a ready indicator, and a safety lock. Oh, and it sports D.VA’s iconic bunny charm too.
Blizzard and Nerf aren’t talking release dates yet, but their line of Overwatch blasters will be hitting store shelves at some point in 2019. With over 40 million Overwatch players in the world, the Nerf/Overwatch pairing should perform pretty well.
