If you’re in the market to upgrade your home’s sound system, Bose looks like they have the perfect solution. Their Bose Home Speaker 500 is an affordable option that the company promises has “the widest sound of any smart speaker” currently available.

The Bose Home Speaker 500 works its magic via two custom drivers tucked away inside the device. Acoustics then bounce the speakers’ sound off the walls, thus “creating a soundstage wider than any other smart speaker.”

Smart, easy functionality is built into the Bose Home Speaker 500 too. The device is compatible with Amazon’s Alexa, and can hear you call for it regardless of the speaker’s volume. You can also control the speaker through the Bose Music app or Spotify. Bose states that support for AirPlay 2 on Apple devices will be coming soon. You can sync up with the device via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or a 3.5mm auxiliary cable.

But in addition to the apps it supports, the Bose Home Speaker 500 also has a variety of button you can utilize atop the device. From here, you can play and pause, turn the volume up and down, mute and pair, and power it off, of course. It also features 6 buttons on top that will immediately start playing from your 6 preset playlists.

The Bose Home Speaker 500 won’t overwhelm your living space. The device is able to pack some serious volume into a tiny package with measurements coming in at 8.0” high by 6.7” wide and 4.3” deep. The Bose Home Speaker 500 comes in both black and white. So whatever your décor, the speaker should blend in nicely with its surroundings.

As far as pricing goes, Amazon has the device listed at $399 with free one-day shipping included. So if you’ve been dragging your feet on getting that someone special a Christmas gift, Bose is here to save the day.
