It’s the first day of summer, you guys – and that means school is ending in the next week or two. Enjoy it while it lasts, as soon, you’ll be heading back to school already. Ugh, we feel your pain.

At least going back to school gives you another reason to buy cool nerdy stuff to show off, though — that’s where we come in. An essential back-to-school item is your nerdy backpack, the easiest way to show your love for whatever your nerdy franchise of choice may be. There are thousands of different backpacks from just about every fandom available online, meaning you have numerous options when it comes to your book-carrying needs. If you’re all about Stormtroopers, who shot first, and Darth Vader, we’ve got you covered with our list of the top 17 best Star Wars backpacks:

Tattoo Star Wars Backpack

Tattoos are a great way to show your undying love for something. But if you’re a little squeamish or you simply don’t want to mark up your body with a nerdy tattoo, a tattoo-inspired backpack is a great substitute. This Star Wars tattoo backpack makes a great Star Wars gift and it has numerous BB-8-inspired tattoos all over it.

Star Wars Rebel Squadron Pilot Backpack

If you fancy yourself a part of the alliance, check out this Rebel Pilot Backpack modeled after the Rebel designs seen on Luke Skywalker in the films, sporting the iconic orange and white colorway. It has several zip storage compartments and media pockets, as well as headphone eyelits. What’s more, it’ll fit most laptops under 14″, and there is plenty of room within for your other stuff. Even if you remove the fact that it’s a Star Wars backpack, its design is still commendable.

Of course, this rebel backpack wouldn’t be complete without a large Rebel Alliance logo at the top.

Star Wars Stormtrooper Molded Backpack

It’s possible that you might subscribe to the theory that the Alliance is actually the “bad guy” in Star Wars. Whether you find that to be true, or you simply think Stormtroopers look cool, check out this Stormtrooper Backpack. It’s modeled to look like Stormtrooper armor, with molded panels on the site designed with the troopers in mind. It is wholly white and black, and it has the Imperial Army logo on one of its sides. Even the back panel is stitched to look like a Stormtrooper mask. It’s bigger than most of the backpacks on this list, as it comes in at 17 x 19 x 6″.

R2D2 On Patrol Backpack

If you want to take your nerdiness to the next level, the only geeky backpack you’ll need is this R2D2 backpack that even has lights and sound effects. It has a round design that’s crafted to look like our favorite little droid. When you push a button, it lights up and makes R2D2’s iconic beeps and boops. It measures 16 x 12 x 5″, and it has multiple large compartments. The straps are padded for added comfort, but you’re not wearing it to be comfortable — you’re wearing it because it’s the coolest little backpack you’ve ever seen.

Star Wars Comic Book Panel Backpack

My favorite Star Wars backpack design on this list is the Star Wars Comic Book Panel Backpack, which is easily the most colorful bag available. It uses panels from the Star Wars comics, and it’s covered with cool scenes. It’s made out of Nylon, and it has one small zippered compartment in the front. In fact, it’s basically the same backpack as the Tattoo-inspired one above, just with a different skin. It’s the best thinge Loungefly has ever designed.

Darth Vader 3D Molded Backpack

So far, we haven’t given Darth Vader any love on this list, but he obviously deserves some. This 3D Molded Backpack is designed to resemble Darth Vader’s mask, and it has a unique shape unlike any other backpack you’ve ever seen. It measures 15 x 14 x 4.5″. Although we find its lack of pockets disturbing, the cool design and large compartment more than makes up for it.

Boba Fett Backpack

Every bounty hunter needs a backpack to carry their things around in, and you won’t find a better Boba Fett backpack than this one, which you can find right now on Amazon.

Star Wars Chibi Ships Backpack

Chibi x Star Wars? Count us in. This canvas backpack features Star Wars ships and Luke, but they’re designed using the Chibi aesthetic. If you love anime or manga-inspired things, and you’re a fan of Star Wars, it’s an absolutely stellar choice.

BB-8 Backpack

Whether you loved The Force Awakens or not, there’s no denying that BB-8 is one cool little droid. This BB-8 backpack celebrates our new love, printing BB-8 all over. It has a simple design, with just one big compartment and one small one in the front.

Yoda Backpack

If you’re not planning to use your backpack for school purposes, the coolest backpack we’ve seen is this Yoda backpack that looks like you’re carrying Yoda on your back. It might not be the most functional pack available, but it looks super cool, especially if you plan to cosplay as Luke Skywalker from Empire Strikes Back.

Chewbacca Buddies Backpack

Oh, and there’s also a Chewbacca version of that buddies backpack shown above.

Han Solo Hoth Inspired Backpack

This one is a lot more subtle than the others on this list, so if you’re looking for a bookbag that isn’t as in your face with its celebration of Star Wars, this is a great option.

The Last Jedi Luke-Inspired Rucksack

This rucksack is inspired by the Jedi Knight’s costume in The Last Jedi.

AT-AT Backpack

This classicly-designed backpack features the likeness of an AT-AT pilot.

Porg Mini Backpack
