Of course, we all know the biggest superheroes like Batman, Spider-Man, Superman, Iron Man, etc. But for every successful superhero, there’s a failed superhero left behind. Let us introduce you to The League of Regrettable Superheroes: Half-Baked Heroes from Comic Book History by Jon Morris. This book collects 100 of the strangest superheroes to ever grace a comic book.

These regrettable superheroes just never worked out. The book includes off-brand superheroes like Bee Man, The Clown, the Eye, and a slew of many other ridiculous heroes that probably should’ve never even been printed. In fact, some of them actually made it on our list of 10 Weird Super powers That Will Make You Say WTF. The League of Regrettable Superheroes provides a unique look into the stranger side of comics, and makes a great nerdy coffee table book.

It’s filled with some hilariously bad superhero ideas — ones that obviously didn’t quite pan out as their creator intended. The book is definitely a conversation starter, too, as we’ve seen many of our house guests pick it up and say, “No way, there was a (insert weird superhero here)?”

We’ve also included this book in our list of the 50 best geek gifts, and it’s quite the popular item for the gift-giving season.
