During one of Gamespot’s podcast Kinda Funny Gamescast, guest Pete Hines, marketing vice president of Bethesda, confirmed the leak about the new Wolfenstein.
Replying to a question on Twitter that asked “how’s the new Wolfenstein coming?” Hines commented that “MachineGames has been hard at work on something, which I can tell you I have played. It is f***ing bananas. And I can’t wait to show what it actually is.”
A comment that is most indicative for the normally quiet publisher, and we’ll likely be hearing more about it at E3 2017. I say this because of the leak back in last year’s E3, when Wolfenstein: New Colossus appeared in a list just before the Quake Champions trailer. It was a screenshot of a C:/ file directory, with mostly iD Software titles, including New Colossus and an empty field for the release date. Needless to say, we’ve been waiting a while to hear more about this game and I can not wait until there’s at least a trailer.
Wolfenstein has remained a classic series since the very first established everything an FPS is today. The modern games have added to the series in delightful ways and a new game, that’s “f***ing bananas” apparently, can only elevate the series further. Or will it? Is there nothing more Wolfenstein can do better? Let us know in the comments below
