Deep Silver has announced today that Agents of Mayhem will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC in North America on August 15, and August 18th in Europe. The announcement trailer shows off a little gameplay, the badass personalities of some of the characters, and the art style of the world and playable characters.
The game will take place in the same universe as Saints Row, and the story is centered after the event of Devil’s Night, in which “the world was left in ruins” by the villain organization Legion. The world needed heroes but instead got what might as well be a band of pirates and mercenaries, the Agents of Mayhem.
These “unstable misfits” carry a variety of weapons and work under “Persephone Brimstone, ex-Legion lieutenant, and her girl Friday, to bring down Legion and its mysterious leader, the Morningstar.” Do you think Brimstone has to disappear four months out of the year?
In the game, you can run around the city of Seoul with “three interchangeable agents,” with their own wild sense of humor, look, weapons, and skills. The player can build their own team however they see fit, switching between various characters, including Daisy, Rama, and Red Card.
According to Deep Silver, Daisy is “a mini-gun wielding, beer-swigging, foul-mouthed derby girl.” Nothing says badass like derby. Rama, on the other hand, is “an immunologist with a futuristic bow and energy arrows.” Which looks absolutely nothing like Hanzo, even though it does remind me of him. Red Card is a few chocolate chips short of a cookie as “a psychotic football hooligan with a temper that can literally clear a crowd.”
These are only three of the twelve characters that are thus far featured in the game. Each are perfectly tailored to whatever the player might need to have the most fun and cause the most destruction – I mean, take down more enemies.
