It looks like we’re able to celebrate a bit early this year, as the first Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer has leaked days before the planned official reveal that was set to happen at this year’s Star Wars Celebration.
The trailer is all rendered in-engine, however, it shows no gameplay. Instead, we’re given a look at some of the franchise’s biggest characters, including Yoda, Kylo Ren, Rey, and Darth Maul. But the teaser also gives us a bit more of a hint for what we can expect with Battlefront 2, as it uses the phrase “Fight Multiplayer Battles Across All Eras”. Does this mean we’ll even be fighting with Rogue One characters at all? Hmm…
What’s more, the trailer also teases single player content, as we were all expecting. It shows a shot of the Death Star exploding before showing a random soldier with the text “The untold soldier’s story”. By the sounds of it, Battlefront 2 might be taking some single player campaign cues from its distant cousin, Battlefield 1.
We were hoping for a release date, but unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t give one. It’s possible we’ll be given one at the Star Wars Celebration on April 15th, but it’s more likely they’ll hold out for E3 2017 in June to reveal it.
What do you think of the trailer? What would you like to see in Battlefront 2? Sound off in the comments below.
