Modiphius Entertainment has recently announced on their Facebook page that they will be making a board game based on the Fallout games called Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. Modiphius has made a few intriguing board games before, like Achtung! Cthulhu and Star Trek.
Some of their games were financed via Kickstarter and have been quite successful since. However there has been no mention if this Fallout game will be on Kickstarter as well. Other than the featured 32mm figures pictured, Wasteland Warfare will have PvP, co-op, and solo missions.
The site also teases what appears to be a screen shot from Fallout 4, or at least one of the many promotional images you can find for the game. It depicts a female player and a dog venturing out into the wasteland, nothing more. It is not clear what this image has to do with the board game, if anything at all. I imagine it is nothing more than advertisement to help people associate the board game with the franchise.
At to how well Fallout will work for a board game is up to you. However, having played my fair share of Kingdom Death (a board game inspired by Dark Souls and the Berserk manga), a kind of survival game like Fallout could be worth it. Or perhaps Fallout could take the route of an RPG and have players take on the role of specific characters throughout the game.
All remains to be seen. How do you think a Fallout board game will workout? Would you buy it? Let us know in the comments.
