The invites have gone out for Sony’s E3 2017 press conference and they are calling it the PlayStation E3 Media Showcase. It’ll be on June 12th, at 6pm PT in the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall, all located of course in Los Angeles. Both the location and time slot are the same as last year, and though Microsoft was going to move their slot, they’ve decided to stay on the Sunday, June 11 just before Bethesda and after EA.
Unfortunately, Sony didn’t mention what they would be featuring at the event but there is plenty that we can reasonably expect. Like Spider-Man on the PS4 finally getting a title and a release date, The Last of Us 2, more Days Gone material, and cross your fingers for a release date for God of War.
Other than that, rumor has it that a PS Vita 2 will be coming out. Hopefully with better games this time. The PS Vita started off alright with games like Uncharted, and Gravity Rush, but it fell rather quickly to JRPGs and anime romance novels. Despite this, I can blame the Vita for helping me discover the wonders of Uncharted and Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation (the only mainline AC with a female protagonist), so it wasn’t a complete waste of money.
Nonetheless, there is certainly a lot to be expected from Sony while Microsoft is showing off their Scorpio. There really isn’t much that can top that, but we shall see come June.
