New It Trailer And The Red Balloon Of Death

This new clip from Warner Bros. of the new movie It debuted at the MTV Movie and TV Awards and stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise, Jaeden Lieberher as Bill Denbrough, and Finn Wolfhard as Richie Tozier. The film is directed by Andrés Muschietti who is known for another horror movie titled Mama.

It will be released to theaters on September 8th, 2017, and is based on the novel by Stephan King. The book has been adapted before, going by the same title and as a TV mini-series from 1990 that starred Tim Curry as Pennywise. Some say Curry’s performance could never be bested, but we can at least be assured that Skarsgård is known for his role in Hemlock Grove, a horror series on Netflix.

If you never really got into the 90s show or the book, this reboot written by Chase Palmer is centered around a group of children who begin to realize other children are going missing. They eventually unite to face-off Pennywise, the creature behind it all that has been tempting children into sewers with a clown face and red balloons for centuries.

This trailer depicts the lovely New England countryside of Derry, Maine, a small town where kids can go bike riding, and jump into a deep lagoon. The fun it cut short, however, as they children determine to go into the sewer and find their share of body parts and other evidence of Pennywise’s previous killings. A red balloon floats down to them, only to pop loudly before it reaches them. Pennywise is then later found standing with a large bundle of red balloons hiding his face until he lets them go.

Again, It will be coming to theaters on September 8th, 2017.
