Warner Bros. Introduces Injustice 2 Championship Series

Warner Bros. has announced today their eSports program for Injustice 2, called the Injustice 2 Championship Series and is presented by PlayStation 4. The events will be going on across North America, Europe, and Latin America and everyone will be competing for the $600,000 USD prize money.

The Injustice 2 Pro Series will be the first of these eSports events on May 26th and will be broadcast live on Twitch. This will go for four months until only 16 players are left. These finalists (pulled from around the world) will advance to the Pro Series Finals, which will be on September 17th in Los Angeles.

The previously mentioned Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes will not be specifically selected players, but anyone at all who wants to give other unspecified cash prizes a go. This will take place across the US at various local GameStops. This will begin on June 4th with online qualifier tournaments, and then eight Regional Finals at select GameStops will be held August 12th. If you manage to get through both of these, you can join the Hometown Heroes Finals at the 2017 GameStop Consumer Expo in Las Vegas later in the month on August 27th.

The Injustice 2 Path to Pro Tournament will be centered in Europe and will be begin on May 20th in Benelux Union, France, Germany, Bordic Territories, Italy, Spain, and the UK. These will not include the folks that participated in the first Pro Series. If you end up being part of the lucky 12 that make it, you will get to enter into the Path to Pro Finals, which will be held online on August 19th.

For the Latin American countries Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Peru will be the Injustice 2 Liga Latina. There will be both online and offline qualifier tournaments for each country beginning on May 27th. The select winners from these regions will move onto the Liga Latina Finals, which are held on August 13th, presumably online.

According to Warner Bros. Brazil will be getting its set of tournaments as well, but the details are not here yet and will be “coming soon.”

So get training and get out there, that cash prize is pretty awesome!
