The Gifted: A New X-Men TV Series From Fox

Twentieth Century Fox has announced with a teaser trailer that The Gifted, an X-Men TV series, is signed up for its first season through 2017 to 2018. The full trailer, and hopefully more details, will be revealed in a few days come May 15th. It was not mentioned just how many episodes this time period allows for or when it premiere on Fox’s channel.

We do know, however, that The Gifted is directed by Bryan Singer who is known mainly for his production work on The Usual Suspects and directing X-Men: Days of Future Past. The Gifted‘s script is written by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) and centers around two non-mutant parents and their mutant children. The parents, played by Stephen Moyer (True Blood) and Amy Acker (Person of Interest), are forced on the run with the children when a hostile government threatens the family.

Luckily, they run into an underground group of mutants, also fighting for survival. The mutant children are played by Sean Teale as Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Clarice Fong, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Emma Dumont as Lorna Dane, and Blair Redford as John Proudstar. The main stars and children of the aforementioned parents are played by Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker, and Percy Hynes as Andy Strucker.

Director Singer also mentioned earlier that Stan Lee will likely be making a cameo for this show as well. On again, the full trailer comes May 15th and we’ll finally see what these teenage mutants will be up to throughout the show.
