According to a post on Reddit by Halo’s community manager Brian Jarrard, Halo 6 will not be making an appearance at this year’s E3. Instead, Jarrard states, there will be something related to the franchise coming, but nothing about Halo 6.
This is rather unfortunate, as most fans of the series were hoping for another glimpse of the title since Microsoft confirmed it’s existence a while ago. Usually games at E3 are announced about a year in advance, so the timing would have been fine too if it wasn’t going to be released this year.
Especially since the Xbox is very dry for exclusives, some would have assumed they needed Halo 6 to be presented. Indeed, more often than most Xbox games, Halo games are often console sellers. How cool would it have been to have the Scorpio bundled with Halo 6?
Nonetheless, as with all large and special games to our hearts, it is probably for the best Halo 6‘s presentation will be delayed. Halo 5 was a bit of a disappointment when it didn’t focus on the Master Chief, and 343 has been assuring fans that they are indeed doing their best to focus on him again. They want to build the world on a more personal level and make it a little more plausible.
That said, your guess is as good as mine what that “something” will be at E3. It could be anything from a remaster to a DLC. Or we could go even wilder and Microsoft could follow Ubisoft into the film industry and make another movie out of the Halo series.
