Warner Bros. has announced LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 with a teaser trailer and a release date of November 17th, 2017 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as well, but with a release date around Christmas, no specific date was given. The full trailer will be coming May 23rd, for those of us who would prefer to see a little more gameplay before making any financial-based decision.
The new sequel brings together both the heroes and villains of all eras and realities within the Marvel universe. The entire cast will take the player on “a completely original branching storyline” according to managing director of developer TT Games Tom Stone, into battles across the Marvel cosmos.
All made possible by the hub world Chronopolis, where the player will be following Kang the Conqueror through time and space until the evil villain is defeated. From Ancient Egypt to New York City in 2099, the player will also be able to take control of a variety of characters, including Thor, Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, Spider-Man, Captain America, and almost anyone else you can think of.
The game’s main features, as Stone states, are the players ability to manipulate time in order to follow the villain, and all new Super Hero battling mode, which can take up to four players. Something that is definitely a good fit for the Switch, as it can be either co-op or competitive. LEGO games, if nothing else, have generally made good multiplayer games. Super Heroes 2 will likely be no exception.
Besides, with inclusions like the Guardians of the Galaxy, nothing could be more suited to the humor of the franchise as all of the Marvel characters. Do you think this new game would be good for the Switch? Let us know in the comments below!
