Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter XX will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game was originally released on the 3DS as a somewhat larger version of Monster Hunter Generations. There have been no details on the price yet, but there is an upcoming Monster Hunter event in Japan this weekend. There will likely be more information revealed there, as well as E3 at Nintendo’s Treehouse event.
Monster Hunter XX is the ultimate crossover game, featuring characters from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Ace Attorney, Okami, Garo, and Strider. The Breath of the Wild additions are probably the most exciting, given that we get Link and all the cool things he can do in his original game. You can cook with him, hunt the local wildlife (thought they look a little more like dinosaurs in Monster Hunter XX), hide in barrels (we’re never going to forget Wind Waker), climb around on nearly anything you like. Hopefully with a longer stamina bar.
The second most exciting crossover is Okami, probably because it is one of my favorite games. You get the usual weapons from Okami, as well as brand new brush techniques and attacks that were not seen in the original game. If nothing else, Okami is a character worth trying out for the sake nostalgia.
And with Monster Hunter XX on the Switch, it will be even more fun to play with friends to team up against a monster. There is no word yet on the release date of the game.
