Yet another trailer has been released for Kingsman: The Golden Circle and it seems we finally get to see who are villain is (or is it her?). Poppy is played by the lovely Julianne Moore, and in the glimpse we see it seems she plays the part of James Bond kind of villain perfectly.
We also get to see more of the tools as hand for the Kingsman’s counterparts. The Statesman key weapon is a lasso, or as Taron Egerton’s character calls it, a skipping rope. It turns out to be fairly useful for things like grabbing enemies closer, or a chair to hit them with, and even slicing enemies in half. The slicing part seems to depend on the lasso used, as one glues blue and the other does not. Ten points for not using the exact same rope for both situations.
Another favorite weapon of the Statesman appears to be the shotgun, which we saw plenty of in the previous trailer. It’s certainly interesting what Channing Tatum does with the double barrelled shotgun, especially since it would very difficult to do in real life with a real shotgun. One does not simply spin a double-barrelled shotgun on one finger by the trigger guard. But this is a Kingsman movie, one should also not expect realism.
Speaking of a lack of realism, the Kingsman cologne bottle depicts the silliness of this movie series better than words ever could. It glows blue, the spray button is pressed, and it turns into a fragmentation grenade. It’s like product placement, but for fictional weapons. What’s not to love?
Kingsman: The Golden Circle stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Sir Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges. Still no Elton John in the trailers. I suppose we’ll have to go out and watch the movie when it comes out on September 22, 2017 to find out what part he plays.
