This new trailer for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite expands on some of the story details we’ve only seen glimpses of before. The key plot points involve heroes from both universes coming together to stop Ultron Sigma. Sigma’s plan to take over the world includes infecting all biological life with something as yet unspecified.
The playable characters shown within the trailer include Jedah, Dormammu, Firebrand, and Ghost Rider. This makes for a total of 30 characters in the game’s current roster. There will be more characters added after the game launches, who have yet to be revealed.
According to Capcom, Infinite be the most memorable game in the series because of the many single and multiplayer features. These thus far include a single player campaign that throws the player into the midst of a fierce battle between the heroes of both universes and Ultron Sigma.
There is also the arcade mode, for those gamers that miss the old school version of fighter games. The only way to advance to the boss is to keep on winning, so keep those epic showdowns coming.
If you’re not as experienced, there are a few tutorial missions you can practice in. The training mode will also get you the practice you need. Or, if you’re feeling skilled and lucky, there are “advanced character-specific challenges.”
For those who like fighter games for the co-op modes, Infinite certainly doesn’t fall short. You can play against one other friend in local multiplayer, or solo against an AI, both of which can be played offline. If neither is enough of a challenge for you, there are ranked and casual matches (non-ranked) available. Last but not least, the lobby mode allows up to 8 players to participate in PvP matches at the same time.
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC across North America and Europe come September 19, 2017.
