Life Is Strange: Before The Storm – “Your Friend, Me” Support Campaign

"Your Friend, Me is a wonderful way for people to... express their genuine appreciation for a friend."

Since Life is Strange: Before the Storm is so focused on mental health and the social issues surrounding it, publisher Square Enix has decided to participate in the National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. They have thus announced the charity campaign called “Your Friend, Me” that will be raising money for The Jed Foundation. The latter is a nonprofit organization that helps support emotional health and prevent suicide for teens and young adults.Life Is Strange: Before The Storm - "Your Friend, Me" Support Campaign

“Your Friend, Me” works by getting fans to post short video messages that tell the story of how a good friend “has meaningfully impacted their life.” You are to finish the video by the closing address of a letter, “your friend,” and then your name. Be sure to include the hashtags LifeisStrange and YourFriendMe. For each video posted, Square Enix will be donating $5 (for up to a total of $25,000) to The Jed Foundation.

If you happen to be at the GameStop 2017 Expo in Las Vegas, Square Enix has a few video stations set up specifically for you to tell your story. All videos will eventually be compiled and posted on the “Your Friend, Me” website. It is not officially live yet, however, so check back when the event is in full swing.

CEO and executive director of The Jed Foundation John MacPhee has expression how grateful he is on behalf of the organization that Square Enix is doing thing campaign. He has stated that “Your Friend, Me is a wonderful way for people to share their story and express their genuine appreciation for a friend.” Doing so well help those in need of support to perhaps remember the people they do have in their lives or move them towards support centers like The Jed Foundation. Raising awareness for mental health is always a positive message for all involved.
