Ashes of Creation Alpha Gameplay Coming December 2017
The PAX demo will plunk the player in the open world of Ashes of Creation in a PvE mode.
In an awfully short amount of time, Intrepid Studios has managed to get Ashes of Creation up off the ground, through a record breaking Kickstarter, and to an alpha version. It’s coming out December 15, 2017 and there will be a demo available at PAX with two experiences to choose from.
If you’re itching to play the alpha, you’ll have to sign up for the Alpha Zero on the game’s website. You’ll be entered into a raffle that’s drawn up weekly, so be sure to sign up to get your chance.
Creative director and the studio’s founder Steven Sharif is equally astounded with the amount of support the game has gotten. He explains that it’s only been three months since they’ve wrapped up the Kickstarter and they are already pushing out this Alpha Zero. That said, he would like to remind fans that “many things will change from Pre-Alpha to Alpha/beta and live launch.” Heck, they still have 64 Class names to reveal. Intrepid Studios certainly has their work cut out for them.
If you think waiting around for your name to be drawn at the raffle isn’t worth it, you can also try out the Ashes of Creation demo at PAX West. The trailer placed above explains what will be included in that demo and glimpses of their current alpha gameplay.
PAX demo will include only four classes: Mage, Tank, Rogue, and Cleric. There will be two experiences available. The first will plunk the player in the open world of Ashes of Creation in a PvE mode. Players are set with the mission to gather supplies for their nodes (the developer’s term for the players chosen settlement). Once done, the players are tasked with guarding a caravan on it’s path to the next merchant. There will be plenty of enemies to encounter here. They also mention a very vague “deep dark presence.” A hint at more of the game’s story and world-building.
The second mode you can experience is a PvP arena where you and three other players are pitted against another team of four. The objective is to tear down the opposing team’s statues and erect your own. Each match will last only ten minutes.
Ashes of Creation does yet have a release date for the full game, but be sure to sign up for the alpha in the meantime.
