After all the hype from the poster and teasers, Netflix has given us a full trailer for the second season of Stranger Things. It features an all new threat in the form of a shadowy monster with multiple limbs.
It seems too that the government scientists are finally taking the hint that what they’re doing might not be the best idea in the world. It also looks like Joyce Byers once again has the short end of the stick and is desperate for help. If you were even remotely worried that Stranger Things couldn’t possibly top the drama of the first season, this trailer should reassure you.
For those that don’t already know, Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror series on Netflix created, written, directed, and produced by the Duffer Brothers. It is placed in a fictional town called Hawkins, somewhere in Indiana during the 1980s.
The first season comes in the format of an investigative drama, focused on a missing boy and Eleven, a young girl with special powers. All the while, supernatural events keep occurring and it gets dark. Have your tissue box or spouse ready, because if you cried for things starting to go wrong, season 2 is going to be even worse.
As far as official announcements go, Netflix has only stated that season 2 will centre around the citizens of Hawkins struggle to get back into the normal swing of things. Judging by the trailer, that isn’t going to work out very well. Hawkins will once against have to deal with the supernatural consequences of the first season.
Stranger Things was also nominated and won several awards, including Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance, and 18 nominations for the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards. All of which were very much well earned.
As such, you have no other excuse but to catch up with season 1 so you can be ready for season 2 when it comes out October 27, 2016 on Netflix.
