Sleep Tight Announced, Twin-Stick Shooter and Tower Defense Game

Coming from a team of "AAA game developers and big-budget film VFX artists"

Just announced for the Nintendo Switch and PC is the upcoming “adrenaline pumping arcade-style, twin-stick shooter with base-building elements”, Sleep Tight. The game comes to us as the debut project from the developers at We are Fuzzy.

We are Fuzzy is an eclectic group that bring some pretty impressive resumes. The team is lead by art director and visual effects artist, Maxx Burman. Burman has notable franchises such as Far Cry, League of Legends, Westworld, and Titanfall under his belt. He had this to say about his newly announced endeavor:

“Since I was a kid, I always wanted to make games. After 10 years of working on other people’s projects, it was time to make my own, and I wanted to go back to that feeling of pure play. I feel fortunate to work with such talented artists to bring this Pixar-esque world to life. I think it’s an experience that will appeal to the young at heart, no matter their age.”

One of the talented artists Maxx mentioned Dylan Ekren, formerly a Disney character artist. Ekren worked on both the highly successful Wreck It Ralph as well as the critically acclaimed Zootopia. In addition to Ekren is Oscar Mar on the design team. Formerly of Ubisoft, Mar also worked on Far Cry as well as team behind Rainbow 6.

The gist of Sleep Tight is the “monsters under your bed” dynamic. During the daylight hours, your character is tasked with constructing pillow forts for protection and putting together various security systems to aid you as night falls. And when night falls, the monsters come calling.

It’s during the nighttime segments that the game finds its frenetic self. You then control your character via twin-stick shooting mechanics as you attempt to push back against the monster’s onslaught. You’ll utilize Gatling guns, water balloon launchers, remote controlled gun turrets, and more. As you take out more and more monsters, you’ll earn funds which will help to upgrade and expand your arsenal.

Sleep Tight has only been announced for PC and Nintendo Switch at this point. We are Fuzzy are targeting a release in early 2018.
