OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead Cinematic Trailer
Nothing like an apocalypse to let out your aggressions.
A new trailer for OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead has been released by publisher Starbreeze. It features the character Aiden and gives us a feel for tone the developers are trying to set. Somewhere between tragic and cynical humor.
Aiden seems to be someone who had an office job before the zombie apocalypse hit. Someone who had a lot of people and obligations he wasn’t very interested in fulfilling. We see him wake up from the dream (or should we call it a nightmare) and walk in that same street that used to be filled with so many suits on their way to work.
The street is empty of people now, cars are upturned and filled with decaying corpses or zombies. Aiden hears a telltale shuffle in the distance ahead and he lays on a car horn to stir the rest. Wielding his still wet with blood baseball bat, Aiden smirks, puts his hood up, and clearly takes no small pleasure in bashing in what might be former co-workers. Nothing like an apocalypse to let out your aggressions.
If you don’t already know, OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is developed by OVERKILL, a studio owned by Starbreeze. The latter is publishing along with Skybound Entertainment and 505 Games.
The game is a four player co-op where each player takes on the role of a key character, like Aiden. They all have their own backstories and motivations, all of which will unfold at the team plays the game. In addition, each character has a unique set of special abilities, skill trees, squad roles, and play styles.
Set in Washington D.C., this FPS game will provide plenty of missions and raids that will secure supplies for your base camp. You’ll be rescuing survivors too, bringing them back to the relative safety of your camp.
OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead will be coming out Fall 2018 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
