It looks like we just might see Resident Evil 7 sooner than expected, as a new report is suggesting that the game is set to be revealed at this year’s E3.
According to Dr. Serkan Toto, a reliable industry consultant who has been known to source information in the past, Capcom will bring Resident Evil 7 back to its horror roots, and the game will “essentially be a clean slate” for the franchise — a much needed clean slate, in our opinion.
What’s more, Toto claims that Capcom brought on industry veteran Jordan Amaro, whose previous works include Metal Gear Solid V and the short-lived P.T. with Kojima Productions.
Of course, this news has yet to be confirmed by Capcom, but this wouldn’t come as any surprise given the backlash that Capcom has received in the past for going the more action-oriented route with the Resident Evil franchise, leaving much of the horror behind. In fact, the franchise has gone from being included in our mega list of the best zombie games of all-time to being mostly forgettable in its recent outings.
It’s likely that given Capcom and Sony’s recent relationship, we could see Capcom unveil their game during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, which was just officially announced last night. Be sure to check out more important E3 2016 dates so that you don’t miss a beat.
