As promised, Atlus pulled the curtain back on their Catherine remake, Catherine: Full Body. The developer’s livestream also gave us some additional details regarding the game’s next chapter.
As we mentioned in our previous post, one of the big new features for Full Body is the existence of a 4th love interest within the game. Named Rin, the character is portrayed by Japanese voice actress Aya Hirano.
And while Rin is currently hogging all of the spotlight, Atlus promises that the original main duo of Catherine and Katherine aren’t being neglected. The two will both have additional episodes created for Catherine: Full Body to flesh out their story if you will. The developers also stated that many new anime movies will be incorporated into the new game. As well as the inclusion of “sexy events.”
Atlus also teases that the puzzle aspect of the game will be revised as well. They were vague in describing how. But they did promise that the revisions will be beneficial to both players who were good and bad at that aspect of the original game.
Also, for the first time since Full Body’s announcement, Atlus has confirmed that the remake will indeed be hitting western markets. The publisher was noncommittal on a price point or release window, but at least we do know it’s headed our way.
The trailer which we’ve included above is all Japanese text and voiced. However, you get a general gist of the game and our first good look at Rin within the video. As Atlus’ press release promises, “A new test of Vincent Brooks’ morality is about to take the stage.”
Catherine: Full Body is set to release next winter in Japan for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita. Perhaps the west will be lucky enough to get a localized version next spring.
