20th Century Fox has given us another Deadpool 2 trailer and it is just as good as the last one. This one introduces Cable, as played by Josh Brolin, and his metal arm. He begins with a lovely speech about pain and how no one really knows pain but him because he is more metal than man. At which point we get a close up of Cable’s metal arm, only it is still the green sleeve without the special effects added in.
If you are a little confused, not to worry, so is Deadpool. He pauses the trailer, demands the team get to work by commenting that “it’s not like we’re trying to remove a mustache,” and proceeds with his own version of the trailer.
He refers, of course, to the most recent Justice League movie where they were forced to remove Henry Cavill’s mustache post-production. The move did not go over well with fans, who claimed it was very easy to tell what had been done and made a bad movie even worse.
Nonetheless, Deadpool’s introduction to Cable is a little more toy-like. He has a city made out of colored construction paper and two figurines, one is himself dressed up as Sheriff Woody from the Toy Story movies, and the other is Cable. It is all “reach for the sky” from there as Deadpool’s figurine “fights” Cable by shoving Cable’s head into his crotch and stating “no biting.”
By then the team is apparently done with properly inserting Cable’s metal arm into the trailer. We get back to the trailer and see Cable stop bullets with his new arm. Other characters appear as well, including Zazie Beetz as Domino and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Domino and Deadpool appear to be fighting their way out of an asylum, where posters hang stating “purity, humanity, infinity.” In another clip, we see Deadpool fighting off a few people with a frying pan. It is wonderfully effective. There is much more, of course, and I encourage you to read the video description when you are done. It does not make much sense, but it is 110% everything Deadpool.
