Phantom 8 Studios has released a new trailer for their game, Past Cure. The game will be coming out February 23, 2018 on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will be selling at the very affordable price of $29.99 USD.
Past Cure, as told in the story trailer, is a psychological thriller centered around the character of Ian. Ian is a former elite soldier who one day just shows up, with absolutely no memory of who took him or what they did to him. All he knows now is that he has special mind powers, like time manipulation and telekinesis.
Ian tries to stay at his brother’s secluded cabin to work things out, but when an opportunity arises to find out what happened, Ian feels he must take it. Bent on revenge and the search for more information, Ian uses all of his elite skills.
Ian’s skills include stealth, hand-to-hand combat, guns, and his special mind powers. As with any great power, comes a great price. Ian cannot use his powers too often or he too will go insane, forever unable to tell the difference between reality and dream.
Past Cure is described as a “cinematic experience” that combines various types of gameplay elements into a fascinating story. Each element is meant to challenge the player and be able to switch between play styles on a dime.
If you are still on the fence about this game, like some might find the story a little flimsy at the moment, having heard elements of this tale numerous times before in games like Prey (experiments being done on someone unknowingly), or Amnesia (sanity as a gameplay element).
However, it is still possible that Past Cure’s story will be written exponentially well and draw the player in no time. As such, Phantom 8 is releasing a demo of the game early next week on Steam. It might be just the trick to get you interested in the game and finally decide whether it is worth the purchase or not.
