Announced back in December, Capcom has finally announced when we’ll be getting our hands on Mega Man 11. As well as a slew of upgrades the series will getting within its 11th iteration.
First – the story. Apparently, and shockingly, Dr. Wily is up to his antics again. And he’s looked back to his time at Robot University for this game’s villainous inspiration:
More From Nerd Much?:
“In the events of Mega Man 11, long-time mustachioed series villain Dr. Wily is back to his mischievous ways and has had a true flash of evil genius, deciding to invest in an ambitious idea from his time at Robot University where he studied alongside Dr. Light, Mega Man’s benevolent creator. Dr. Light, who also recalls this inventive idea, decides to upgrade Mega Man with this powerful prototype known as the Double Gear system, installing it into his circuits and expanding his abilities for the greatest fight yet for everlasting peace as they take on the evil attempts of Dr. Wily to conquer the world.”
The trailer above also gives us introductions to two of Wily’s robot villains from the game. Fuse Man is an ” electrifying speed demon” who darts quickly through the battle via a bolt of electricity. And Block Man has the ability to pulled bricks from the environment to make himself enourmous during the fight.
You’ll see Mega Man use two of his new powers in today’s trailer. With the Speed Gear, Rock can slow the flow of time. Thus making it much easier to battle the swift Fuse Man. The Power Gear allows him to charge the Mega Buster to a new level. Giving him the ability to dispatch foes like Block Man much easier. The Double Gear is the third new ability in Mega Man 11. It’s a combination of both the Speed Gear and the Power Gear which can only be utilized when Mega Man is at critical health.
Capcom has announced that Mega Man 11, Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will all be playable this year at E3. Mega Man 11 will then launch on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 2nd, 2018.
