Pokémon Let’s Go Has a New Adorable Gameplay Trailer
Cute, basic fun.
This brand new Pokémon Let’s Go gameplay trailer gives us reminders and additional insights into Pokémon Let’s Go: Pikachu and Let’s Go: Eevee. As usual, each game will have Pokémon exclusive to it. In Let’s Go: Pikachu trainers can catch Oddish, Sandshrew and Growlithe; while players of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will be able to capture Bellsprout, Vulpix and Meowth.
As we’ve already known, you’ll be traveling with your starter companion: either Pikachu or Eevee, both of which can be male or female. You can dress up your Pokémon companion and bond with it by petting, feeding, and tickling them. Best of all, you can even select a haircut for your little partner. The way this trailer showcases the accessories and styles available to you and your Pokémon is highly reminiscent of some of the customization available in Pokémon GO.
Speaking of teamwork, remember you’ll be able to co-op this game with a quick shake of a second joycon. Pokémon will be easier to catch when you’re playing this way. And while I’m sure there are still people salty about the lack of battles, keep in mind that you’ll be battling trainers and can go toe-to-toe with folks online.
As players travel throughout the Kanto region, they will meet some familiar faces as well as a few new ones. Professor Oak returns, alongside a new Rival, to present the Pokédex—a high-tech encyclopedia that records data on any new species of Pokémon that players catch in the games. Players will be able to battle Gym leaders across Kanto, including fan favourites Brock, the Gym Leader of Pewter City, and Misty, the Gym Leader of Cerulean City, as they strive to become the Pokémon League champion.
Overall, this trailer highlights just how aesthetically pleasing this Pokémon yellow remake is going to be. And with the light gameplay, it seems like the perfect casual Pokémon adventure for those maybe not looking to take a deep dive into anything heavy.
