Sony is showing off their newest iteration of the PlayStation 4 Pro today. It’s a gorgeous red edition of the console with a design inspired by Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man game. The system has a 1TB hard drive and comes with a matching DualShock 4 controller and a copy of the title on Blu-ray. It will retail at $399.99 when the game launches in September.
A new trailer was released today too to coincide with San Diego Comic-Con. Things appear to be getting worse and worse for Peter Parker. The latest trailer for our Spider-Man game is loaded with villains. All of which are dead set on taking the vigilante out once and for all.
Mayor Norman Osborn gets a lot of screen time in today’s clip. Osborn has hired Silver Sable and her security force in an effort to restore order to New York City. And by restoring order, he chiefly means stopping the vigilante in red and blue that is continually getting in his way.
There’s also a ton of Miles Morales in today’s clip. Insomniac is leaving little doubt that Miles will play an important role in the upcoming story. But they didn’t go as far as to put him in his iconic black and red threads, or hint as to whether he has any powers yet. We’ll have to wait a month or so before we see how prominent a role Morales plays.
Speaking of suits, we’ve also got our first look at the final preorder bonus costume that is headed our way in September. It’s Spidey’s Velocity Suit, which you’ll get free for preordering. The Velocity Suit comes alongside his Spider-Punk outfit and the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Iron Spider costume.
The wait is almost over folks. Spider-Man is swinging our way in just a month and a half on September 7th.
