EA Dice has released a fresh Battlefield 5 Gamescom trailer today that might make you hesitate about jumping into the upcoming World War 2 based game. But in all the best ways possible.
Today’s Battlefield 5 Gamescom trailer is captured entirely of in-game footage. Which is impressive because the 2 minutes trailer is jammed pack with frenetic intensity. As explosives reign through the streets, bodies go flying and buildings tumble.
It’ll be interesting to see just how each level’s architecture handles the destructive chaos that overcomes it. The trailer wants to suggest that these cities can be literally torn apart. But, of course, this is still a game. And we’ll have to see exactly what EA Dice can accomplish with their Frostbite engine on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
There are couple of new maps on display within the Battlefield 5 Gamescom trailer. Fans will notice that we’re introduced to a never before seen map that’s known as Rotterdam. The locale is situated in Holland and plays host to a battle begin fought as the Germans attempt to overcome the Dutch city.
EA Dice states that the second half of the trailer presents locations that we’ve previously seen in earlier footage. Everything goes by quickly, so at first glance it’s hard to determine what is what. But the developers tease that “From the shattered streets of Rotterdam to the burning sands of North Africa, Battlefield will never be the same.”
Earlier this week, Activision came out and announced the beta dates for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s upcoming battle royale mode, Blackout. As the first battle royale attempt within the Call of Duty series, Blackout is heavily anticipated to be sure. But a fantastic trailer like the one EA Dice provided today for Battlefield 5 may be just what the medic ordered to steal the spotlight back.
