September Games with Gold Titles Announced

Microsoft has unveiled what we have in store for us as part of their Games with Gold program in September. And while there are no real standouts here, the overall package can be deemed relatively solid.

The highlight of the month is probably Prison Architect making its way to Xbox One. You’ll be able to download the game with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription from September 1st through September 30th.

In Prison Architect, you tasked with the overall management of a maximum security prison. You’ll design the building, hire staff and security, keep up with maintenance and squash escape attempts and riots. It’s up to you whether you design a facility truly designed to rehabilitate. Or you can instead choose to rule your Super Max with an iron fist.

Next up for the Xbox One is Perfect World Entertainment and Tuque Games’ Livelock. It’s a top-down shooter that can be played either solo or via co-op. It’s been described as feeling similar to the Diablo series, albeit with guns and set within a post-apocalyptic world. Livelock is free with Games with Gold from September 15th through October 15th.

The Xbox 360 docket brings us Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. Available from September 1st through September 15th, this entry in the Lego Star Wars series takes place during the events of the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars show. A show that was just recently revived from Disney and Lucasfilm.

Finally, from September 16th through September 30th we’ll be getting Sega Vintage Collection: Monster World. It’s a retro gaming collection of the 3 Wonderboy titles: Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Monster World IV. With the latter seeing a release outside of Japan for the very first time within the Monster World package.

If you’ve yet to jump into the Xbox ecosystem, Microsoft unveiled the Xbox All Access program earlier this week. For $21.99 a month over two years, you can get your hands on an Xbox One S, 24 months of Xbox Live Gold and 24 months of Xbox Game Pass. The same deal is available with an Xbox One X console instead for $34.99 a month.
