Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout Trailer Will Blow You Away
Activision and Treyarch finally released their heavily anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout trailer today. And hot damn does it look good.
The Black Ops 4 Blackout trailer starts off with a typical battle royale intro. A squadron of helicopters hover the map and soldiers begin to drop with wing suits guiding them to their destination of choice.
Then some quick shots of the various locations that we covered yesterday hit the screen. There’s a battle going on atop the Hydro Dan and one player makes their escape by jumping off the dam’s wall. He plummets to the water below, but that’s no problem. He swims underwater while still shooting at enemies above. And when he surfaces an ally is there within a Zodiac to quickly escape.
There’s then a bunch of cuts of vehicular combat. Boats vs. helicopters. Helicopters vs. those on foot. ATV vs. ATV and plenty, plenty more. It’s frenetic. It’s intense. And it looks pretty damn amazing.
There’s then a shot of a zombie sneaking up upon an unsuspecting soldier. Following that, we see a squad running away from an encroaching purple wall infamous in battle royale games. A narrator then says “Further collapse excepted. Evac to safe zone.” But it’s unclear if Blackout’s “storm” is the zombies themselves or something else entirely.
The Black Ops 4 Blackout trailer then picks back up with the action. We’re then shown off a few more locations while mixing in classic Call of Duty multiplayer style gameplay that’s been incorporated into Blackout. This includes a grappling hook, because, well why the hell not?
The developers at Treyarch and Activision have did an incredible job providing a Black Ops 4 Blackout trailer that builds hype up ahead of next week’s closed beta. The 80 player battle royale mode launches worldwide with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on October 12th. Those that pre-order gain access to the aforementioned beta.
