Nickelodeon Kart Racers Release Date Announced

Announced back in July, GameMill Entertainment has finally provided us a Nickelodeon Kart Racers release date today within a new trailer. Coming next month, the kart racer will feature characters from a variety of popular Nickelodeon cartoons.

GameMill has only showcased characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats and Hey Arnold!. But the studio states that “more” will be coming within the final package.

Characters that grace their presence in today’s Nickelodeon Kart Racers release date trailer include SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy from SpongeBob SquarePants, Tommy Pickles, Angelica and Reptar from Rugrats, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold!

Nickelodeon Kart Racers Release Date

The game looks to be a direct impersonation of the more recent Mario Kart titles. Items are strewn across the game’s 24 “Slime-themed tracks”. You can also see characters doing various stunts as their karts hit ramps, giving boosts when they land just as in the Mario Kart series.

There doesn’t look to be online play within the game. Instead, players can duke it out via 4-player local split screen multiplayer in both racing and Battle Arena modes. There will also be a mode in which players can race to win various cups and unlock additional upgrades to your karts.

It’s to be determined whether Nickelodeon Kart Racers will play well, but graphically GameMill’s racer is lackluster at best. Releasing in 2018, the game looks as though it could have been amongst software released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube era. The art direction on the project leaves a lot to be desired. Somehow GameMill was able to make Tommy Pickles even more perturbing than usual.

GameMill confirmed today that the Nickelodeon Kart Racers release date has been set for October 23rd on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. While the nostalgia may be high by featuring these beloved characters from your childhood, I wouldn’t expect much from this upcoming knock off kart racer.
