Black Ops 4 Zombies Blood of the Dead Reimagines Alcatraz
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was the 3rd game in the Call of Duty series to feature a Zombies mode. As DLC, Activision and Treyarch released Mob of the Dead, a Zombies story set within Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary. The content turned out to be a favorite amongst fans. So now over 5 years later, Treyarch is taking that locale and reimagining it with Black Ops 4 Zombies Blood of the Dead.
While the original Alcatraz Zombies story featured the prisoners Salvatore “Sal” DeLuca, Billy Handsome, Michael “Finn” O’Leary, and Albert “The Weasel” Arlington, this reimagining will incorporate the headlining team of the Zombies mode, the Primis crew. It looks to be a radically different take on the Alcatraz map.
Here is Treyarch’s official tease for Black Ops 4 Zombies Blood of the Dead:
“Blood of the Dead takes the classic Zombies heroes — Richtofen, Dempsey, Takeo and Nikolai – on a journey to a secret laboratory beneath the iconic Alcatraz Penitentiary. Encountering a familiar enemy Hell-bent on imprisoning them for all eternity, the Primis crew quickly realize that the future predicted by the Kronorium – the future they sought to secure – is now in serious jeopardy.”
Today’s Black Ops 4 Zombies Blood of the Dead trailer is intense to say the least. Set to the series’ iconic track “Where Are We Going?”, the emotional footage comes in at a whopping 5 minutes plus. If Call of Duty’s multiplayer mode and the new Blackout battle royale mode haven’t sold you, watching this latest trailer just might.
Blood of the Dead is actually one of two distinctive storylines that will comprise Black Ops 4’s Zombies mode. The other introduces the new characters of Scarlett, Stanton, Diego and Bruno. That squad will have episodes that see the crew time travel around to locales such as the Titanic and Ancient Rome as they attempt to solve a mystery of their own.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 continues to impress with each new morsel we see. The full game releases tomorrow – October 12th.
