While many are still slowly traversing the incredibly detailed world that Rockstar Games has built within Red Dead Redemption 2, others have plowed through the title and are awaiting what’s next. They, like many others, are curious when the developer will be ready to roll out the Red Dead Online beta. According to Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, the Red Dead Online beta is coming very soon.
During a recent earnings call, Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, was asked about the launch of Red Dead Online. The CEO stated that Red Dead Online “will launch in public beta towards the end of the month – Rockstar will have a lot more to say about it”.
Leading up to launch, Rockstar Games published numerous video that detailed the world and how the game’s mechanics would work within Red Dead Redemption 2. With Strauss stating that “Rockstar will have a lot more to say about it”, it’s evident that the studio plans to do this once again, but this time by breaking down what we can expect within the Red Dead Online beta.
While fans patiently await the Red Dead Online beta, Red Dead Redemption 2 itself continues to dominate the gaming landscape. Rockstar announced last week that the newly released game had earned the title of “entertainment’s biggest opening weekend of all time.” The Friday, Saturday and Sunday following launch, Red Dead Redemption 2 earned an impressive $725 million worldwide. And to date, Rockstar has already shipped 17 million copies of the western.
With only 22 days left in the month, we’ll likely be getting a complete breakdown on Red Dead Online in the next week or so. Rockstar utilized this same strategy while releasing Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online. But time is running out, partners. All you cowboys and cowgirls out there that plan to get immersed in Red Dead Online better wrap up that story while you can.
