Final Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer Sets the Stage

Following delay after delay, we’re nearly at the finish line. The launch of Kingdom Hearts 3 is a little over a month away. And as we head down the final stretch, Square Enix dropped a new trailer for the game that sets the stage for what’s to come.

If you’re unfamiliar with the story thus far within the Kingdom Hearts universe, today’s Final Battle likely won’t help. It’s designed to get long-term fans of the series hyped and it likely did just that.

Our leading trio of Sora, Donald and Goofy trudge on and we get glimpses of their various stopping points within this latest Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer. We’ve seen many of these locales before, but this time there’s a good chunk of gameplay footage included within the game’s newest trailer too.

There’s a snipped that features the inclusion of Lilo & Stitch‘s Stitch as a summon. There’s a battle that utilizes a Keyblade attack which is cooking themed with Ratatouille as inspiration. There are Mad Teacups and a Pirates of the Caribbean minigames. Dancing within the streets of the Kingdom of Corona (Tangled). Pirate themed battles and underwater adventuring, first-person shooter segments likely inspired by Big Hero 6, and much, much more.

There’s also quite a bit of footage dedicated to the nefarious Organization XIII and the political inner workings going on within the group. There’s a mysterious member within their fold that continues to be shrouded throughout the trailer. Let the speculation run wild as to who this person turns out to be.

All in all, what’s likely to be the final Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer delivers to fans that are ready for the wait to finally be over. And it will be soon. The long awaited “ultimate battle between light and darkness” finally arrives for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29th.
