If you’ve been patiently waiting for Devil May Cry 5, that wait is nearly over. And to help quench your thirst, Capcom dropped their Devil May Cry 5 final trailer. Unfortunately, the footage just makes us want the latest entry in the series now instead of next week.
The synopsis of the Devil May Cry 5 final trailer reads that “The world as we know it is falling apart after a sudden demonic invasion, and it’s up to Nero, Dante and the mysterious V to team up and face the ultimate challenge.” Yes, it’s quite the basic description, but for good reason. For the trailer itself is riddled with some low level spoilers that many might prefer to avoid.
The game revolves around the aforementioned trio of Dante, Nero, and the new character “V”. The gameplay on display looks similar to former outings, with a focus on quick and stylish action. Each character has their own weapons and abilities, if V brining a play style entirely different to the table.
As for the narrative, the story is set a few years after the events of Devil May Cry 4. Dante, still manning the Devil May Cry offices, is hired by the newcomer V to help eliminate a series of demon threats throughout the world.
Nero has since established his own demon hunting agency out of his van, yet still named Devil May Cry itself. Within the early stages of the story, Nero’s Devil Bringer arm is stolen by a mysterious hooded thief. Nero’s investigation into the thief leads him to the same location in which Dante has found as the source of V’s demon problems. From there, the trio “team up and face the ultimate challenge.”
Self described by Capcom as “the latest, craziest and most stylish entry in the series”, Devil May Cry 5 begins kicking ass on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 8th.
