Batman: Arkham Knight Batgirl DLC Coming July 14th

batgirl dlcWarner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the first details for the upcoming story-driven Batgirl DLC for Batman: Arkham Knight, which will be titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family.

The Batgirl: A Matter of Family DLC, which is currently only dated for PS4 and Xbox One, is set prior to the events of Arkham Asylum and will allow players to control Barbara Gordon as Batgirl for the first time in the franchise’s history. The story will feature an all-new location and will contain multiple missions, side quests and secrets, and Dual Play with Robin.

Batgirl: A Matter of Family will be available July 14th for those that purchased the Season Pass, and July 21st for everyone else for $9.99. The Batgirl DLC interestingly isn’t being developed by Rocksteady, but is instead being developed by WB Montreal, the devs behind Batman Arkham Origins. WB noted that all of the remaining DLC will be from Rocksteady.

It’s interesting that Warner Bros. would take this time to announce the release date for the DLC, since their receiving a ton of slack of releasing the PC version of the game in such a broken state (which, according to reports, they knew about and still released). We’re

Of course, this DLC is just a taste of what we think will become the next standalone game in the Batman universe, as we think Rocksteady could go with Batgirl for their next game.
