Left 4 Dead 3 has possibly been outed thanks to a Valve employee. Better start loading those shotguns now in preparation for all those zombies!
Just yesterday, Left 4 Dead developer Tristan Reidford posted a tutorial on asset importing. The tutorial was posted on the official developer blog. Left 4 Dead 3 appears in the walkthrough as one of his recent personal folders. The folder is titled “left4dead3” and can be found in the upper-left corner of the screen grab below from Crave Online.
Since then, the above image has been replaced with a newer image that has removed the Left 4 Dead 3 folder.
While many of us would be eager to play a new Left 4 Dead, Valve has a history of teasing fans of their long-running series. Famously, Gabe Newell has teased the development of Half Life 3. The possibility of something similar can’t be ignored.
On the other hand, Gabe was always fairly direct when he was teasing a long-awaited title. So far, this seems like a legitimate mistake that they are hoping people forget.
What do you think? Are there any ideas you hope would make it into the upcoming game? What are things you might want removed from the series? Give us your opinions in the comments below!
