THQ Nordic is a new rebranding of Nordic Games to show gamers that they are serious about using the IPs that were acquired from THQ.
The news comes from press release from Nordic Games. “THQ Nordic represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IP,” it reads. “We cherish them, and align them with the very best development resources to expand upon them with the level of experience that communities and established fan bases expect and deserve.” In short, they want to reassure fans that they will not be letting these IPs die.
Following THQ’s bankruptcy, Nordic Games aquired a number of their IPs in April of 2013. Two years later, THQ Nordic also purchased Men of Valor from 2015Games.
“As of now we have 23 game projects in development, 13 thereof have not yet been publicly announced but are sure to be in the next months. Needless to say, the majority of these projects are based on former THQ owned IPs and franchises.”
Currently, it is not known what these additional 13 titles are. While Darksiders 3 is a safe bet, might e also see sequels to games like De Blob, Deadly Creatures, or Red Faction? For now, all we can do is cross our fingers and dream big.
