November is finally here, and for those wondering, I’ve already had my first Peppermint Mocha of the season. With the holiday season starting to rev up just about everywhere we look, we should all take a minute to slow down and remember that November is a month for being thankful, and this week especially, we have a lot to be thankful for.
First, there are a couple of great new games this week that we’ll be delving into over the coming weekend. After our first two hours of Owlboy, we’re hoping to finish it up this weekend. If you haven’t picked it up yet on Steam, I highly suggest you do so — the Owlboy soundtrack alone makes it worth the wait. Of course, there’s also one of the year’s most anticipated games releasing today, as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare officially releases for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. We haven’t spent much time with this year’s new CoD just yet, but we’re planning to dive into some multiplayer at least this weekend.

As far as previously released games we’re still playing, well, we’re still all-in on Overwatch, of course, playing just about every night. And then there’s Battlefield 1, which I’ve been playing on Xbox One but just picked up a PS4 copy to take advantage of next week’s release of the PS4 Pro. We also picked up the newly released Skyrim: Special Edition for the same reason, although we’ll likely wait until the PS4 Pro releases next week before we actually jump back into it. I also haven’t played enough Civilization VI yet, so I’m going to get a couple hours of that in at some point hopefully as well.
We also plan on jumping into the newly released Super Dungeon Bros. game on Xbox One at some point this weekend to give that a try, as it’s currently sitting on our Xbox’s hard drive awaiting our testing.
On the movie side of things, one of the year’s most anticipated movies releases, as Doctor Strange hit theaters last night. You can read our Doctor Strange review here, but basically, Collin says it’s gold, so we’re planning to check it out Saturday night. Trolls also releases this weekend, but we’re pretty sure we’re just going to skip it.
There’s a lot going on with TV this weekend, including the continuation of The Walking Dead season 7 and Westworld (which we’re still all-in on, for the record). There will also be new episodes of Syfy’s Van Helsing and Z Nation (which I still have to catch up on), and we’ll likely be tuning in for this week’s Saturday Night Live to see Benedict Cumberbatch hosting.
That’s it for our weekend. Let us know what games you’re playing and movies you plan to see over the weekend in the comments — we’d love to hear from our readers.
