After the wild success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt earlier this year, CD Projekt Red is looking at their future. According to a report, that future includes the release of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 in 2016.
According to Gamereactor, “a source close to the company” says that the studio is looking to actually set the Cyberpunk 2077 release date for some point in 2016.
Oddly enough, this report comes a few months after CD Projekt Red stated that they wouldn’t even be discussing the game until 2017, and the game would be “far, far bigger” than The Witcher 3. So, take this report with a big grain of salt until we hear anything from the developer’s mouth.
It seems that a more likely scenario for the game is Spring 2017 at the earliest, but Gamereactor tends to be a mostly reliable source, given that it’s one of the biggest European game publications on the net. It would be hard to believe that CD Projekt Red could get the game published on Xbox One and PS4 in such a short window, so hopefully it isn’t just going to be on PC. We will update our readers with any Cyberpunk 2077 news as it surfaces. For now, all we have is this intriguing trailer that debuted two years ago.
