For those of you who have been spending the year exploring every depth of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it’s time to start building your anticipation for its second expansion.
Blood and Wine is scheduled to come out in the first half of 2016. To help with the wait, CD Projekt Red has released the first two glorious screenshots which you can see below.
Game Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz says, “It’s a massive new land to explore, visually unlike anything you saw in Wild Hunt or Hearts of Stone, and it too is brimming with stories we want you to discover.”
Blood and Wine is a 20 hour story that includes a brand-new region called Toussaint. It is described as a land that has been untainted by war, but its carefree atmosphere masks an ancient, bloody secret. You can purchase Blood and Wine with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Expansion Pass for $25.
This marks only the second paid expansion for The Witcher 3 following Hearts of Stone. CD Projekt Red has been celebrated for releasing much of their DLC for free. They believe that if they ever release paid content for their games, gamers will understand why they decided to charge for it.
