Virtual Reality is almost upon us, and Oculus Rift is helping by giving us another incentive to jump in.
According to Oculus Rift founder Palmer Luckey, those who pre-order Oculus Rift will receive a free copy of EVE Valkyrie. The game is also set to premiere first on Oculus.
“We’re excited to partner with CCP to bring this experience to Rift owners everywhere,” Luckey says. “It perfectly captures the promise of immersive gaming.”
For those who are unaware, EVE Valkyrie is a spin-off of the massive multiplayer game EVE Online, which is often described as one of the most complex MMOs available. Valkyrie takes a more mainstream approach and boils it down to just the space combat aspect.
This bundle is scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2016. For anyone who still isn’t sure what makes EVE Valkyrie so special, check out this gameplay trailer.
If that isn’t enough to sell you on VR gaming, there are a number of other titles coming to the Oculus Rift, such as Rock Band VR and Minecraft. That doesn’t even scratch the surface for games that are already compatible with the Oculus dev kits.
Oculus Rift is one of the major options coming to VR. Their closest competition is Playstation VR and the HTC Vive.
With big competitors in the fight, a free game may be the edge they need to come out on top.
