The Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date could be sometime in 2017. The plan is to release it in celebration of Final Fantasy‘s 30th anniversary.
According to some sources at VGLeaks, Square Enix has some ambitious plans for 2017. As we suggest with all rumors, don’t take this as fact.
For starters, the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date has been set in 2017. Because the remake is releasing in parts, this is not too far outside the realm of possibilities. Square Enix has previously stated that each “episode” will be the size of a full game, so don’t expect something small.
More From Nerd Much?:
The celebration doesn’t stop there. Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age is also expected to release next year. From here, we get into the unannounced territory. Sources suggest that the Final Fantasy 13 trilogy will be getting a collection on PS4. This will include 13, 13-2, and Lighting Returns. The rumor suggests that the games will be on their own discs and the visuals will be in 1080p and 60fps.
One remaster and two releases isn’t enough for Square Enix. If the rumors are true, they will be releasing the Final Fantasy Anniversary Collection for the PS4 and Vita. This one is going to be meaty. Everything from Final Fantasy 1 to 9 will be included. Some titles will feature both the original version as well as a modern port. Most of these ports will be from the newer, mobile versions.
For any Final Fantasy fan, 2017 could be an overwhelming year. We are most excited about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake release date being in 2017. Everything else is just icing on the cake.
