Ever had that situation where you’re in the middle of a big fight online and all the sudden your controller’s battery dies? You jump up from your chair to find the charger so you can get back in the fight before someone finds your character in its vulnerability. Even if you find the charger in time, you still have to be tethered to the console, losing the warm, comforting spot on your couch.
According to IGN in an announcement for CES 2016, Performance Designed Products (PDP) will be coming out with a charger that can fully charge your Xbox One controller in 60 seconds or less. Believe it or not, that was no typo. This will be the fastest charger on the market by a landslide. Even more impressive is that you’ll still be able to get a full 10-12 hours of gameplay from that re-charge.
Chief Technology Officer Tom Roberts explains, “The Super Charger’s unique ability to recharge the Xbox One controller in just seconds reduces interruption in game play sessions – a full recharge during a quick break provides convenience to all gamers.
Pricing and a release date are still unknown at this point, but with the Consumer Electronics Show starting next week, we should expect to hear a lot more about this cool technology and more.
