WATCH: Pandemic Trailer (Zombie FPS Movie)

Today, Content Media unveiled their new zombie movie, Pandemic, but before you roll your eyes, keep reading — it’s a new take on the zombie apocalypse. Instead of just throwing actors on a screen and shooting the film, the film was shot from a first person perspective, putting the viewers in the role of the protagonist as he/she takes on the zombie apocalypse.

The movie is directed by John Suits (Static, Growth). The Pandemic cast includes some notable names, including Rachel Nichols (Continuum), Missi Pyle, Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), and Mekhi Phifer (8 Mile).

It appears to be a unique take on the zombie movie genre, featuring non-stop action from an FPS perspective inspired by video games. It’s set in Los Angeles in the near future in which a virus has overtaken the planet, creating more infected than uninfected. The studio is calling it a “new model of action thriller for the video game generation.”

The Pandemic release date appears to be set for April 1, 2016, but we’ll keep you posted if we hear a different date.
