I didn’t think I’d ever say this, but it looks like an Aquaman game of some sort is currently in development, according to a leaked concept art image posted on Twitter.

As The Aquaman Shrine notes, the concept art does use the Aquaman movie logo, as well as a Jason Mamoa-esque version of Aquaman. Now, before we all get too excited (or confused), this isn’t the secret project that Rocksteady is working on. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if this were some sort of Aquaman mobile game in development to coincide with the movie’s release in 2018 (October 5th, for the record). Why do we think that? Well, first, the company that’s allegedly behind the concept image is named Eipix Entertainment, and their catalog of games include mostly casual iOS titles like Spiny Core and Nom Nom. And sure, those mobile games look fun enough, but would it be enough to attract the attention of a big-name publisher to commission an Aquaman game? No, no it wouldn’t.
Plus, let’s be real here, could a AAA-level Aquaman game actually be sustainable? The whole idea of this being a full-on Aquaman game stinks; it doesn’t seem logical. Time will only tell, but for now, we’re going to assume this is some sort of mobile tie-in game. We’ve reached out to Eipix Entertainment for more info.
