LEGO City Undercover had some fairly warm reviews when it was released on the Wii U in 2013, attributing to the usual charm and humor of a LEGO game, good writing, and great level design. Now with the Switch about to be presented, it seems Warner Bros. wants to get in on the action too. Today the company dropped a trailer for its upcoming re-release of LEGO City Undercover for the Switch, Steam, PS4, and Xbox One.
The trailer shows a range of characters whose animation is all on point for the expressive humor of the game. However, there is no actual gameplay shown, so we’ll have to see how updated it is really is from the Wii U version if at all. In addition, being on the Switch perhaps this slightly under-rated game will get the attention it deserves coming out on the Switch.
That said, there is no official release date yet beyond spring of this year, so it probably won’t be coming until we’ve safely installed the Switch in our homes. If you already have this game on the Wii U, it’s likely not going to be playable on the Switch unless you buy it again. Even if it does show up on the Virtual Console, money will have to change hands. Will you be buying this game regardless? If this is the first time you’ve seen it, let us know what you think in the comments below!
