In a blog post on their official site, Nicalis announced that the game will launch on March 3 and will run for $39.99 USD, and it will be available both as a boxed and digital release in the U.S., and digitally worldwide.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, it’s a twin-stick shooter that places you in dungeons akin to the original The Legend of Zelda, but with a bloody, creepy twist, and it adds permadeath into the equation. Afterbirth+ will pull together all over the versions of The Binding of Isaac to present players with over 500 different items to find in over 6,000 rooms.
Interestingly enough, Nicalis teased that there’s something sneaky going on with the boxed version, saying, “You might want to consider pre-ordering as the first few thousand copies may come packed in with something special”.
Nicalis appears to be all-in on the Nintendo Switch, as they’ll also release Redout for the console at some point in 2017. You can pre-order both games on Amazon right now. Both are on our list of all of the upcoming Nintendo Switch games of 2017.
